Refund Policy

Published 1 November 2026.

Effective Date: 1 November 2026

1. Summary — Please Read First

hi.Malta is a technology platform. It is not the seller of tickets and is not a party to the contract between a Customer and an event organiser ("Organiser"). Any and all refunds in respect of a ticket sale are the sole responsibility of the Organiser. hi.Malta does not guarantee, underwrite, fund, or owe any refund. All ticket sales are final unless the Organiser's own refund policy (displayed on the event page) provides otherwise, or unless a refund is strictly required by applicable mandatory law.

2. Organiser Refund Policies Control

Each Organiser sets its own refund policy for its event. Before buying a ticket, you must review the Organiser's refund policy as displayed on the event page. That policy forms part of your contract with the Organiser. Examples include, without limitation:

  • no refunds under any circumstances;
  • refunds available only up to a stated cut-off date;
  • partial refunds with administrative deductions;
  • refunds only in narrowly defined circumstances.

hi.Malta does not determine refund eligibility, does not second-guess the Organiser's policy, and is not obliged to issue a refund to you.

3. Event Cancellation, Postponement, or Rescheduling

3.1 Liability Lies With the Organiser

If an event is cancelled, postponed, rescheduled, materially changed, or fails to take place, refund liability (if any) lies exclusively with the Organiser. hi.Malta will, at the Organiser's written instruction and to the extent that funds are available and authorised, facilitate refunds through its payment partners as a technical service. hi.Malta does not advance funds, underwrite refunds, or assume liability if the Organiser fails, refuses, or is unable to fund refunds.

3.2 hi.Malta Service Fees

hi.Malta service fees, platform fees, and payment processing fees are earned at the time of the transaction and are non-refundable in all circumstances, except where a refund of such fees is strictly required by applicable mandatory law.

3.3 Processing Time (if Refund is Approved)

Where an Organiser-approved refund is facilitated through the Platform, processing typically takes 5–10 business days from the date of approval. Your bank or card issuer may require additional time to make funds available. hi.Malta has no control over, and no liability for, timelines imposed by third-party payment providers.

3.4 Postponement / Rescheduling

If an event is postponed or rescheduled, your ticket generally remains valid for the new date unless the Organiser states otherwise. Any refund in lieu is at the Organiser's discretion and governed by the Organiser's policy.

4. Customer-Initiated Refund Requests

4.1 Change of Mind

Tickets are non-refundable for change of mind, inability to attend, scheduling conflicts, travel problems, weather, illness, or any similar personal reason, unless the Organiser's policy expressly provides otherwise.

4.2 Incorrect Purchase

If you purchase the wrong event, date, or ticket type, you must contact the Organiser directly and promptly. Any refund or exchange is at the Organiser's sole discretion. hi.Malta does not issue such refunds.

4.3 Duplicate Orders

If you believe you made duplicate purchases, contact the Organiser and copy hi.Malta support at support@himalta.mt. Any refund remains at the Organiser's discretion.

5. Fraud — hi.Malta Does Not Issue Fraud Refunds

hi.Malta does not offer, fund, or guarantee refunds in respect of any fraudulent, unauthorised, disputed, or suspect transaction. This includes, without limitation:

  • tickets sold by an Organiser that the Customer alleges to be fraudulent, invalid, duplicated, or misrepresented;
  • tickets purchased using a stolen, lost, unauthorised, or compromised payment method;
  • identity theft, phishing, social engineering, or account takeover;
  • any fraudulent act or omission of a Customer, Organiser, or third party;
  • tickets acquired from unauthorised resellers, scalpers, or third-party marketplaces.

Your sole recourse in respect of a suspected fraudulent transaction is to (i) pursue the Organiser directly, and/or (ii) raise the matter with your bank, card issuer, or payment provider in accordance with their dispute procedures. hi.Malta may, at its sole discretion, cooperate with a good-faith investigation by law enforcement or a payment provider, but such cooperation does not constitute an admission of liability or an obligation to refund.

6. How to Request a Refund

6.1 Contact the Organiser

Refund decisions are made by the Organiser. To request a refund:

  • Locate your order confirmation email, which contains your order number and a link to your order summary.
  • Use the "Contact Organiser" option on the event page, or contact the Organiser using the details provided in your order confirmation.
  • Clearly state your order number, the reason for your refund request, and any supporting information.
  • Allow the Organiser a reasonable time to respond and to apply its refund policy.

6.2 hi.Malta Support

hi.Malta support may be contacted at support@himalta.mt for technical issues with the Platform itself (for example, failure to receive an order confirmation email despite a successful charge). hi.Malta support does not issue refunds on behalf of Organisers, does not approve refund requests, and does not override Organiser refund decisions.

7. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

Before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute, you must first attempt to resolve the matter with the Organiser and, if unresolved, with hi.Malta support. Filing a chargeback without exhausting these steps is a breach of our Terms of Service. hi.Malta reserves the right, without limitation, to:

  • suspend or terminate your account;
  • void any associated tickets without refund;
  • recover from you any chargeback fees, reversal fees, investigation costs, and lost platform fees; and
  • refer suspected fraudulent chargebacks to law enforcement and to fraud prevention agencies.

Fraudulent or abusive chargebacks may result in permanent account termination and civil or criminal action.

8. Non-Refundable Items

The following are non-refundable in all cases, except where the Organiser's policy or mandatory law expressly provides otherwise:

  • hi.Malta service fees, platform fees, and payment processing fees;
  • tickets to past events;
  • tickets that have been scanned, redeemed, used, or transferred;
  • promotional, complimentary, or discounted tickets (unless stated);
  • tickets acquired from unauthorised resellers or third parties;
  • donations, tips, or voluntary contributions added to your order.

9. Force Majeure

Events cancelled, delayed, or affected by circumstances beyond the Organiser's reasonable control — including natural disasters, epidemics or pandemics, public health measures, government action, war, civil unrest, or infrastructure failures — are governed by the Organiser's force majeure policy. hi.Malta is not liable for any such event and does not refund service fees in such circumstances.

10. Refund Method

Approved refunds are made to the original payment method. hi.Malta does not refund to a different card, account, or person. If the original payment method is no longer available, you must resolve the matter with your bank or card issuer; hi.Malta does not issue alternative-method refunds.

11. No Warranty; Limitation of Liability

hi.Malta makes no warranty or representation regarding refunds. To the maximum extent permitted by law, hi.Malta's liability in connection with refunds is limited as set out in the Terms of Service. Nothing in this Refund Policy excludes or limits any right that cannot be excluded under applicable mandatory law.

12. Changes to This Policy

hi.Malta may update this Refund Policy at any time. The policy in force at the time of your purchase governs that purchase, subject always to the Organiser's refund policy as displayed at checkout.
